Elements 6: Oly 2 – Snatch

Elements 6: Oly 2 – Snatch

  • Review deadlift and overhead squat
  • Burgener warm-up and review of the hook grip, emphasizing wider grip.
  • “Jump and Land” – lift and jump from deadlift position, catch and land in squat position. Emphasize “jump” is a quick movement of the feet, not an exaggerated movement. Work on deadlifting with the wider grip.
  • Snatch – deadlift to above knee, then: full leg extension, open hips explosively, shrug, elbows high and outside, drop under bar and catch the bar with arms fully extended overhead.
