Sticks class is a martial arts class — Doce Pares Eskrima. It is a Phillipino martial art. Contact eric@crossfitdenver.com for more information. This class is free for crossfit members, $10 for non-members.
Women’s weightlifting is is limited to female members of CrossFit Denver, and will focus on Olympic and power lifting, and will be taught by female instructors (except in a rare scheduling conflict).
CrossFit Express WODs are targeted for those living/working in the area who have a time crunch, but want to get a workout at lunch. You are in and out the door in an hour. Movements will be less technical, with an emphasis on intensity.
Benchmark Throwdown class is intended for experienced CrossFitters who require minimal instruction on movements. We will feature a different benchmark workout every day, i.e. one of the girls, heroes, max lifts, metrics, etc. and you will have the opportunity to set or improve your PR on that benchmark. You are not required to do the workout Rx; you do however need to understand your scaling and scale the workout appropriately with minimal assistance. If you do the workout Rx, you also have the possibility of getting your name on the records board. You are responsible for warming up and setting up. Note: If the instructor running the class doesn’t feel you are ready for this particular benchmark, i.e. safety is an issue, they may tell you to join the 6pm WOD instead. Please don’t be offended, this is for YOUR safety.
Technique & Skill class is a session devoted to attempting to perfect our various highly technical movements – Olympic, ring work, handstands, etc. this is NOT a WOD, and should not be viewed as a challenge to complete in a fast time, or heaviest weight possible. This should be more mentally taxing than anything.
Team Conditioning workouts are less technical, but will be VERY intense classes. We have had more than one pukie in the past.
Feel free to invite well-conditioned athletes who are interested in adding in some CrossFit movements to their routine.
