Let’s Get “Grain-u-Lar”!
So i did a Google search of “why grains are bad for you”. The search came back with an approximate mix of 50% pro-grain and 50% anti-grain. As a trainer, gym owner, motivator, counselor, friend, nutritionist and health conscious individual…well I started to wonder? Truth is I have been fed a grain based diet the vast majority of my life! Was it that detrimental as the CrossFit Community may have one believe? Could I really have been 6’2″ and #215? Only over the past few years I have limited consumption of grains, virtually -0-. I think that I look feel and perform better than ever? Hmmm? Please help. Do a little research. Browse the web. Help your fellow CrossFit Denver athletes by posting the link(s) that you feel best summarize the case for or against eating grains. C’mon…do it!

Then I found crossfit. Since I get uber obsessed about stuff, I jumped into this Paleo thing too (plus dairy to follow Rip's 'gallon of whole milk a day' directive). Here the article that did it for me:
http://www.marksdailyapple.com/definitive-guide-grains/
My results have been very rewarding in 4 months time. I'm as fast as ever on short runs and lifting the heaviest things of my life. I do feel a little bit weak on long runs, but I complete them. I'm excited to test the marathon+ distances. And I think I'm okay running a slower marathon but being able to do a pull up. or ten.
How good is "good enough" for the diet? I'm trying to cut 100% of grains from 80% of my meals.
