Lets Hike The Incline!!! Saturday, July 18th, meet at 7:30am

We’ll be meeting in the parking lot at the Lincoln Station park-n-Ride on I-25 & Lincoln Ave. Lincoln Ave is the next exit off I-25 just after C-470. Get off I-25 south at Lincoln, take a right and then another immediate right to get to the lot. I’ll be there in my Ford Escape (grey, with ski racks) as close to the entrance as I can get. The physical address of the lot is 10203 Station Way in Lone Tree, for you that have gps navigation. Lets meet there at 7:30am and we’ll pick three cars to take the rest of the way. I’ll take mine and I’ll have a cooler with water and snacks in it.

Here’s a google map to the lot: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=10203+Station+Way+lone+tree+co&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=48.641855,114.169922&ie=UTF8&z=16&iwloc=A

The incline is right next to the Pikes Peak Cog Railway in Manitou Springs. I’ll have printed directions saturday morning, but the route we’ll be taking to get there is this: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=10203+Station+Way+lone+tree,+co&daddr=515+Ruxton+Ave,+Manitou+Springs,+CO+80829&hl=en&geocode=%3BFW3kUAIdJN—Q&mra=ls&sll=38.855789,-104.931548&sspn=0.011764,0.027874&ie=UTF8&ll=38.877002,-104.851112&spn=0.094081,0.222988&z=13

We will get towed if we park in the cog railway lot. We need to follow the road past the Cog railway station to it’s end. At the end of the road you can take a right turn that will take you up a steep hill to the parking lot for the Barr trail, where we’ll park. If we get there and its full, we can park in the neighborhood nearby and walk up.

Remember that this is a hike on a somewhat rough trail, so wear some durable shoes or hiking boots. A water bottle to take with is probably a good idea too.  its a fairly short hike so I wouldn’t expect you need to take  much, but maybe a small pack would be handy to carry suntan lotion, snacks, camera, etc.

We’re going to go to Adams Mountain Cafe, at 934 Manitou Ave. for brunch after the hike. Here is their website w/menu: http://www.adamsmountain.com/index.php I’ll have directions from the incline to Adams Mtn Cafe.

Please email if you have questions, otherwise see you in Lone Tree Saturday morning!!
